Seminars Held

PUBLISHING

Compilation of the Roma Students' Research Works – initiated within the Equal Chances – Integration of Roma Children and Youth in the Educational System project. It contains works of the students, a description of the project, working methodology, successes, problems, suggestions for further similar activities, students' and mentors' biographies, and a bibliography on the Roma-related literature.

Tri-lingual picture books – We have published 2 picture books (in 3 languages: Serbian, Hungarian and Roma), within the ISSA’s Reading Corner – Web Publishing project.

Translation of articles from the ISSA magazine – We have translated 13 articles, distributed to Step by Step schools and kindergartens.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Participation in the work of the Ministry of Education and Sports' Expert Team for the design of the Joint Action Plan for the Education Improvement for Roma in the R. of Serbia (JAP).

Cooperation with the teams for the design of the Local Strategies for Education Improvement for Roma in Kragujevac and Niš.

Cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH on the Peer Mediation project.

Implementation of a part of the seminars/conferences of other organizations (Center for Modern Skills, Center for Quality Education and Belgrade Fund for the Political Excellence).

The 1st Meet of the nurses, teachers, advisors and directors from the Step by Step – Kindergarten as a Family Center-implementing institutions has been held, as a beginning of networking of the practitioners.

We have produced a case study on Step by Step Program in Primary School and Curricular Reform in Serbia

Participation in the work of the international trainer team for integration of the OSI’s Social Justice training module for adult anti-bias education, and CIP’ Neither Black Nor White program. A combined training module had been produced and the first training for trainers from the countries of ex-Yugoslavia has been held.

Participation at Conferences

• X Annual ISSA Conference, Budapest.
  
• Regional Meet of ISSA members, in Macedonia, with the main topic being the Education Reform. CIP presented the reform initiated and then interrupted, both defined in the Law on the Foundations of the Educational System and the Law on supplement to the Law on the Foundations of the Educational System.
  
• Seminar EDUCATION FOR PARENTHOOD: Children from the birth to age 3, organized in cooperation with the UNICEF, BiH and ISSA in Sarajevo.
  
• Training for Trainers: Anti-bias Education – program for work with children, Montenegro.
  
• Training for Trainers: Anti-bias Education – Adult Program, Slovenia
  
• Seminar Child Rights in Action, Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation, Switzerland.
  
• Seminar Writing Effective Policy Papers for Fund for an Open Society’ offices from Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania and their partner organizations, in Montenegro.
  
• Annual regional meeting of the teams implementing projects within the OSI’ Roma Education Initiative project, in Bulgaria.
  
• 2 seminars in Case Study Design, Budapest.

Presentations:

• At the Winter Meets of Teachers of Serbia A Step in the Reform – presentation of the Step by Step Program in Primary Schools (CIP’ Program Coordinator, Ministry of Education and Sports, teachers, associates and Step by Step schools’ directors); Poster-presentations of the Step by Step schools.
  
• In the cooperation with GTZ and with the Supporting Local Communities project, we did a presentation on training programs available, in Zajecar.
  
• VII Conference of Preschool Nurses of Serbia – we voluntarily held a one-day seminar on Stimulating and Flexible Educational Environment.
  
• X Annual ISSA Conference – presentation of the CIP' case study on Step by Step Program in Primary School and Curricular Reform in Serbia.
